Coffee Quality

Size

Tejo Verde uses two size specifications for its lots based on the mesh system used in Colombia.

• Extra 16+

• U.G.Q. 14+

You can see the size specification in each lot profile.

Selection

• All our coffees have a maximum defect tolerance of 1%, although we always strive to keep this percentage as close to 0% as possible.

• Defects: We carefully select, eliminating black beans, beans that have been attacked by fungi or insects, cracked or crushed, crystallized beans, over-fermented beans, and deformed beans to ensure the highest quality in our lots.

Humidity

All Tejo Verde lots have a humidity level between 10% and 12.9%.

Sensory Profile

All Tejo Verde lots are cupped individually by a professional cupper (Q grader) to determine their sensory profile and SCA score. This description can only be viewed on the website by registered users.

Shipping

Customs and Documentation

• Tejo Verde will be responsible for submitting the necessary documents to Colombian customs for the coffee to be shipped.

• Once the coffee arrives in Japan, it is the customer's responsibility to process the customs clearance. To this end, Tejo Verde will provide the customer with the following documents: Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, and Invoice.

• Remember that when making a purchase, the customer must process the "Food Import Notification" with the Ministry of Health and Welfare before submitting the customs declaration.

• If necessary, Tejo Verde will provide additional support.

Time

Once you have paid for your coffee, it takes approximately 14 days for the coffee to arrive at a Japanese airport for customs clearance. During this time, you can monitor your order using the tracking number that will be sent to you by email.

Packaging

Tejo Verde offers two presentations for shipping green coffee:

● Traditional: The coffee is packed in a new GrainPro bag, then placed in an export-style fique sack, and finally, this sack is placed inside a corrugated cardboard box.

● Vacuum-packed: In this method, the coffee is vacuum-packed in special food-grade plastic bags, and the resulting cubes are packed in a corrugated cardboard box.

Insurance

All shipments made by Tejo Verde are insured against damage during the entire journey from our warehouse to your roastery.
