Bellavista Farm
For more than 40 years, the Urbano Urbano family, led by Celestino Urbano and María Teresita Urbano, has woven a history of dedication and passion in the mountains of Huila, Colombia. From the planting of the first coffee tree to today, their work at Finca Bellavista「a 5-hectare plot of land located 1,450 meters above sea level」has been an act of love and tradition, reflected in every bean that reaches their hands. Today, Maye Urbano Urbano, daughter of this iconic couple, holds the reins of the farm, skillfully managing and proudly representing the family legacy.
Located in Pitalito, Huila, recognized as one of the most prestigious coffee-growing regions in the country, the farm cultivates four exceptional varieties: Gesha: renowned for its floral profile and complexity; Colombia: robust and balanced; Bourbon Rosado: delicate and sweet; and Castillo: aromatic and versatile. Each cup is a tribute to the pride, hope, and gratitude of a family that has transformed coffee into an art form.
The geography and climate of Pitalito are essential allies in the excellence of Finca Bellavista's coffee. Located in the Magdalena River Valley, in southern Huila, this municipality is nestled between the foothills of the Andes mountain range, with altitudes ranging from 1,300 to 1,800 meters above sea level ideal for optimal coffee development. The climate is temperate and humid, with average temperatures of 19°C to 24°C and a (well distributed) rainy season that guarantees fertile, mineral rich soils, thanks to the region's volcanic legacy. The combination of moderate rainfall, bright morning sunshine, and cool nights creates a perfect microclimate for the development of coffees with a clean profile, bright acidity, and silky body. Furthermore, the area's biodiversity, with native forests and crystal-clear water sources, protects the crops and enriches the ecosystem.
With every sip of Finca Bellavista coffee, you enjoy not only an exceptional product, but also the essence of a generous land and the legacy of a family that, amidst mountains and clouds, continues to write its history with its hands in the earth and its heart in the coffee.
